ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY FLEET COMMANDER RECEIVES A COURTESY CALL FROM CAPTAIN TANAKA HIROAKI, CHIEF OF STAFF, JAPAN TRAINING SQUADRON


MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 9 February 2024 - Captain Tanaka Hiroaki, Chief of Staff, Japan Training Squadron from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), made a courtesy call to Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, RBN, the Fleet Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) to discuss potential goodwill visit of JMSDF ships to Brunei today at the Fleet Headquarters.

 

During the call, Captain Tanaka and Captain Sahibul discussed opportunities for future goodwill visits of JMSDF ships to Brunei. These visits aim to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation between the two navies and promote cultural exchange and friendship between the people of Brunei and Japan.

 

Captain Sahibul welcomed Captain Tanaka's proposal for the goodwill visits and expressed the RBN's keen interest in hosting JMSDF friendly nations' ships in Brunei. He emphasized the importance of such interactions in fostering regional maritime security and stability.

 

The call concluded positively, with both parties expressing their commitment to further enhancing maritime cooperation and friendship between Brunei and Japan. Plans for future goodwill visits will be discussed in detail to strengthen the existing ties and advance mutual interests in the maritime domain.
