ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY SHIPS EMBARK ON DEPLOYMENT AND ROADSHOW IN KUALA BELAIT IN CONJUNCTION WITH ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY'S 59TH ANNIVERSARY
KUALA BELAIT, Saturday, 21 December 2024 – Three (03) Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) ships, KDB AFIAT, KDB MUSTAED, and KDB SERASA, have set sail for a two-day roadshow at MPABD, Kuala Belait, to engage with the local community and showcase the Navy's capabilities and career opportunities.

Led by Lieutenant Commander Amiel Azim bin Haji Afflon, Commanding Officer of KDB AFIAT, the deployment also includes KDB MUSTAED, under Lieutenant Dk Nur Bahirah binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, and KDB SERASA, led by Warrant Officers Mohamad Ariwan bin Mohamad and Mohammad Izam bin Hj Othman.

The roadshow aims to inspire fresh graduates and jobseekers through guided ship tours, interactive exhibits, and activities highlighting the Royal Brunei Navy's dynamic career paths and professional development opportunities. Community activities, including religious events, cleaning campaigns, and sports engagements, complement these efforts. Donations were also delivered to KACA Kuala Belait and local mosques.

During the deployment, Captain Sahibul Bahri bin Zainal Abidin, RBN, Fleet Commander of the RBN, paid a courtesy call to Acting Belait District Officer Awang Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad to express gratitude for the district’s support. A dinner reception was held, which was hosted by Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, attended by senior officials and community leaders, further strengthened ties between the Royal Brunei Navy and the Belait community.

The roadshow saw enthusiastic participation from Kuala Belait residents and featured personnel and displays from NAVSAG, UAS, UUV, the Naval Training Centre, and the Royal Brunei Navy Band. The event successfully highlighted the Navy’s commitment to national security while fostering a stronger connection with the local community.
