NAVAL TRAINING CENTRE - Friday, 20th December 2024 – The closing ceremony for the Naval Engineering Officers Course (NEOC) 2024, involving three (03) young officers, was held at Dewan Nakhoda, Naval Training Centre (NTC).
The Guest of Honour for the ceremony was Commander Shahairil bin Haji Mohd Shahlan, RBN, Acting Commandant of Support Services. Also in attendance were Executive Officers, Engineering Officers, and course instructors from NTC.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Petty Officer Mohd Aizuddin bin Haji Sanif, RBN, to bless the event. Opening remarks were delivered by course participant Lt JG Rofii Ridhwan bin Mohamad, RBN, followed by the presentation of certificates to the course participants. The Guest of Honour then delivered his speech to mark the formal closing of NEOC 2024. The ceremony concluded with a Doa, a group photo session, and light refreshments.
The NEOC 2024 was conducted by NTC over 16 weeks, from 30 August 2024 to 20 December 2024. The course curriculum covered essential subjects in Marine Engineering, weapon Engineering, Fire Fighting, and Damage Control.
The course aimed to equip Royal Brunei Navy Junior Officers with knowledge and skills in the RBN Engineering Organisation and its structure, Basic Marine and Weapon Engineering Systems onboard RBN platforms, Fire Fighting and Damage Control Procedures, and the Health, safety, and operational responsibilities of an RBN Engineering Officer.
The successful completion of NEOC 2024 highlights the Navy’s commitment to enhancing its junior officers’ technical proficiency and operational readiness.
