MUARA NAVAL BASE, Tuesday, 7 January 2025 – The unveiling ceremony for fleet ships and departments’ crests was held at Jetty Bravo, Muara Naval Base. Present as Guest of Honour was Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander RBN.
The ceremony commenced with the Acting Commander of RBN receiving the Honourary Salute before proceeding to inspect the parade, which comprised fleet personnel led by Lieutenant Commander Ahmad Nafees bin Hj Kamsani, RBN. Following that, the ceremony continued with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Muhammad Sabqi bin Nasar.
The Fleet Commander of RBN, Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Zainal Abidin, then delivered his speech, where he stated that the existence of the crests, symbolizes the identity and pride of the Royal Brunei Navy Fleet. He also emphasized all fleet personnel to always protect our image, not only in each department respectively but also in RBN collectively.
The ceremony then continued with the presentation of crests by the Guest of Honour to the Commanding Officers, Officer Commanding, and Coxswains of all fleet ships and departments.
The Guest of Honour also took the opportunity to deliver his congratulatory speech to RBN Fleet for another accomplishment achieved with the unveiling of the crests. He also acknowledged the contributions and achievements of all Fleet personnel as the outcome of their continuous hard work, dedication, and teamwork, being the backbone of the Royal Brunei Navy. He also reminded all personnel to always instill the RBAF core values in everything we do, to maintain a high standard of discipline, and to always perform our duties sincerely and truthfully.
The event was further blessed with the recitation of Doa Selamat and then concluded with a group photo at Jetty Bravo. The ceremony today marked another milestone for the Royal Brunei Navy where it also has become an important part of RBN history as well as RBAF's development.
