THE 12TH NAVY-TO-NAVY TALKS BETWEEN THE ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY AND THE REPUBLIC OF SINGAPORE NAVY
BASE DEPARTMENT HONOURING ORDINARY RATE SHAFIEE'S CONVERSION TO ISLAMSingapore, 20th November 2024 – The 12th Navy-to-Navy Talks (NTNT) between the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) were held at the Ministry of Defence ANNEX, Gombak, Republic of Singapore, and hosted by the RSN. Representing the RBN as Head of Delegation was Captain Mohammad Azrin bin Haji Mahmud, RBN, Chief of Staff, while the RSN delegation was led by Colonel Ooi Tjin Kai, Head of Naval Operations, RSN.

The NTNT focused on areas of mutual interest and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two navies, including joint exercises, courses, training, and information sharing. Discussions also addressed long-term prospects for collaboration in engineering and logistical exchange programs. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the strong bilateral ties and the mutual understanding and trust that have been cultivated through previous engagements.

Prior to the NTNT, Captain Mohammad Azrin conducted a courtesy call on Rear Admiral Saw Shi Tat, Chief of Staff-Naval Staff, RSN.

As part of the programme, the RBN delegation visited the Information Fusion Centre (IFC) and the Naval Engineering and Logistics Command (NELCOM) at Changi Naval Base to explore potential areas for future collaboration between the RBN and RSN.​
