MUARA NAVAL BASE, Wednesday, 20 November 2024 - A group of thirty-five (35) students and six (6) teachers from Sekolah Menengah Perdana Wazir recently visited the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) for an educational tour aimed at broadening their knowledge of the Navy's operations and career opportunities.
The visit began with a welcoming remark by the Acting Commander of RBN, Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin,RBN, followed by an introductory briefing by Lieutenant Commander Muhamad Muizz bin Haji Muhamad Jaini, RBN, who highlighted various career opportunities, as well as the roles and responsibilities within the RBN.
The delegation was also introduced to an array of RBN equipment, enjoyed a musical performance by the RBN Band, and engaged with personnel from the Maritime Technical School (MTS), Maritime Operation School (MOS), Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG), and Base Defence (BD), who showcased their specialised gear and allowed the students to try on some of the equipment.
The highlight of the visit was a tour of the Royal Brunei Navy’s ship, KDB DARULEHSAN. During this visit, the delegation explored key areas of the ship, including the bridge, flight deck, forecastle, and RHIC deck. The students demonstrated great enthusiasm and interest in the RBN’s operations and assets, gaining valuable insights into the RBN’s critical role in safeguarding Brunei’s maritime security.
The educational visit concluded with a memorable group photo at Dewan Samudera and in front of the KDB DARULEHSAN. Both students and teachers expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn directly from RBN personnel and commended the professionalism and dedication shown by the RBN.
