CONCLUSION OF MARITIME TRAINING ACTIVITY (MTA) SEAGULL 09/2024 FINAL PLANNING CONFERENCE

MUARA, Thursday 4th July 2024.
The Final Planning Conference (FPC) for Maritime Training Activity (MTA) SEAGULL 09/2024 was conducted at Bilik Mesyuarat Nakhoda Ragam, Naval Training Centre, Muara Naval Base. The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) will host this year's biennial MTA SEAGULL between the RBN and the Philippine Navy (PN).

The aim of the FPC was to follow up, coordinate, and plan the exercise serials and activities previously discussed during the Initial Planning Conference (IPC) in April 2024. Additionally, the conference is also a platform in ensuring the safe and successful conduct of MTA SEAGULL 09/2024 this year.

Present during the FPC was the RBN Lead Team, led by  Lieutenant Commander Md Zulyamin bin Md Noor, RBN  Commanding Officer of KDB DARULEHSAN, as the Head of Delegation, and Lieutenant Commander Nazurah binti Haji Mahaleh, RBN as the Lead Coordinating Officer and RBN Fleet officers. Leading the Philippine Navy delegation was Lieutenant Commander Romel G. Castillo, PN, Operations Officer, BRP ANDRES BONIFACIO.

The exercise represents both navies' dedication to strengthen bilateral defence relations with the current maritime security environment while enhancing mutual cooperation and understanding. The exercise is scheduled to be held from the 6th to the 13th of October 2024 in Brunei Darussalam.​
