MUARA NAVAL BASE, Tuesday, 18 June 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy hosted a distribution of korban meats in honour of Hari Raya Aidil Adha 1445 Hijrah at Dewan Samudera, Royal Brunei Navy. The meats were distributed to Asnaf Fakir Miskin (the poor and destitute group) recipients and RBN personnel. The event commenced with the Fardhu Asar Prayer and Takbir Aidil Adha at Surau Al-Huda.

Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander of RBN, was present to distribute the sacrificial meats. Also in attendance were RBN senior officers, officers from other ranks, and community leaders, including the Ketua Kampung of Serasa.

The distribution began with Sayyidul Istigfar and Surah Al-Fatihah and concluded with the recitation of Surah Al-Asr and Tasbih Kaffarah at Dewan Samudera, Royal Brunei Navy.

This Korban distribution event is categorised as-Sunnah Muakkad, a highly recommended religious custom. It represents and expresses gratitude to Allah, the Almighty, for all the blessings bestowed in life. This activity not only fulfils religious requirements and good deeds but also fosters compassion and caring for the community, strengthening bonds among Muslims in the process. Raising awareness about caring for our neighbours, especially those in need, is equally important.
