MUARA, Friday, 14 June 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a Mess Dinner Night in conjunction with its 59th Anniversary at the RBN Officers' Mess, Muara Naval Base.
Present as the Guest of Honour was the RBN Acting Commander, Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, along with his wife, Dr Hjh Dayang Suzana bte Hj Awang Adenan. The Guest of Honour was welcomed by Lieutenant Commander Aliashim bin Alias, Deputy President of the Mess Committee (DPMC) of the RBN Officers' Mess, and his wife, Norsuse Lieyana binti Hj Sulaiman.
The event officially commenced with the recitation of Doa Selamat led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohamed Syahmi Wafiq bin Mohamed Rohaizan, Officer Under Training KDB DARUSSALAM.
During the event, the Acting Commander of RBN addressed the importance of naval traditions and the need for unity and commitment among RBN officers. He then proceeded to congratulate officers who received awards and completed courses, recognizing their achievements and contributions. He also welcomed new officers and finally thanked the mess committee and supporting staff for their efforts. In his closing remark, he prayed for guidance, blessings, and the continued peace and prosperity of Brunei Darussalam.
The event was also accompanied by musical performances by RBN's band. The Mess Dinner Night was concluded with interaction and group photo sessions.
