RIGOROUS PREPARATIONS FOR THE COVID-19 HOLDING AREA BELAIT SIXTH FORM CENTRE (CHABEL6)

KUALA BELAIT, 03 September 2021, Friday – In continuing the battle against COVID-19, the COVID-19 Holding Area Belait 6th Form (CHABEL6) is currently in its final phase of preparation as part of a collaborative effort between Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Ministry of Health, Public Works Department and other government agencies, including volunteers.

CHABEL6, located at the Belait Sixth Form Centre, Mumong is preparing to accommodate around 300 patients and hopes to better serve the community in combating the surge of positive cases in Brunei Darussalam.

Medical staff from Suri Seri Begawan Hospital are working hand in hand with personnel of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) in training a functional workforce through discussions of best practices, training of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as the use of medical equipment and monitoring patients’ vital signs. Representatives from MOH and Public Works Department have also visited CHABEL6 to ensure it is being set up in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued by the MOH.

CHABEL6 is the fourth facility built for the community, with RBAF playing a key role in its operation. CHABEL6 is anticipated to be operational soon.
