ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY MARKS ITS 61ST ANNIVERSARY WITH KHATAM AL-QURAN CEREMONY

MUARA, FRIDAY, 12 JUNE 2026 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony in conjunction with its 61st Anniversary Celebration at Surau Al-Huda, Royal Brunei Navy Base.

Present as the Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia First Admiral Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. Also in attendance were members of the RBN Executive Board, senior officers, officers and personnel of the Royal Brunei Navy.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Khatam Al-Quran, Takhtim, and Doa Khatam Al-Quran. The event continued with the recitation of Dikir Marhaban and a token presentation to the Khatam Al-Quran participants by the Guest of Honour. 

Held annually as part of the Royal Brunei Navy Anniversary Celebration, the Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony serves as a significant spiritual event aimed at strengthening faith and fostering a deeper appreciation of the Holy Al-Quran among RBN personnel. The ceremony also provided an opportunity to seek Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta‘ala’s blessings, guidance and protection for all personnel as they continue to fulfil their responsibilities in safeguarding the sovereignty, security and maritime interests of Brunei Darussalam.

The ceremony reflects the Royal Brunei Navy’s continued commitment to nurturing spiritual excellence alongside operational readiness, in line with its role in defending the nation and serving the people of Brunei Darussalam.
