ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY MARKS 59th ANNIVERSARY WITH GOLF INTERACTIONS EVENTS

ROYAL BRUNEI AIRLINES GOLF CLUB, Sunday, 19 January 2025 - The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) hosted a golf interaction event at the Royal Brunei Airlines Golf Club in conjunction with the Royal Brunei Navy's 59th Anniversary. This friendly 18-hole golf competition brought together RBN officers to foster camaraderie and strengthen cooperation among participants.

The event began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and briefing on the rules of the game, ensuring all participants were familiar with the format and expectations of the competition. The Guest of Honour for the event was Yang Mulia Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. The occasion was further graced by the presence of Captain (R) Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Haji Matserudin, who participated as a special guest. Other attendees included the Acting Deputy Commander of RBN, Commandant of Support Services and Commanding Officers, alongside senior and young officers of the Navy.

Following the completion of the 18-hole competition, participants gathered at the Royal Brunei Airlines Clubhouse for refreshments and a meal before proceeding to the prize presentation ceremony. Prizes were awarded to the top five Gross and Nett winners, with Lieutenant Commander Abdul Aiman bin Haji Abd Rahman, RBN, emerging as the champion in the Nett Category, while Lieutenant Mohammad Firdaus bin Colonel (R) Dato Paduka Haji Joharie, RBN, claimed the top spot in the Gross Category.
The event successfully cultivated interest in golf as both a recreational and competitive sport among the officers, while further strengthening the bonds within the Navy community.​
