BRIGADIER GENERAL SARAH RUSS OF U.S. INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND VISITS THE ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY

MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 06 December 2024 – Brigadier General Sarah H. Russ, Mobilization Assistant to the J5, Director of Strategic Planning and Policy at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, visited the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) as part of the 17th Joint Defence Working Committee (JDWC) programme. The 17th JDWC meeting between the United States of America and Brunei was held on 5 December 2024.

During her visit, Brigadier General Russ paid a courtesy call to Captain Khairil Haji Abdul Rahman, Acting Commander of the RBN. They discussed matters of mutual defence interest and ways to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation further.

Following the courtesy call, the delegation was given a ship tour onboard  KDB DARULAMAN, gaining insights into the ship's operational capabilities.

This visit showed both countries' continued efforts to strengthen their defence partnership and work together for regional security.
