PENANJONG GARISSON, IL ABDB - Thursday 05 December 2024, the Advanced and Intermediate Base Defence Course Session 2024, conducted its final exercise, "Sauh Perisai Tempur," at Penanjong Garrison, IL ABDB. Present as the guest of honour of the closing ceremony was Lieutenant Commander Mohd Adib Faliq bin Mohamad, RBN, Officer Commanding Regimental Police.
This final exercise is a critical component of their training program, providing personnel with essential skills to operate effectively in urban environments, which are becoming increasingly important in modern combat operations. The training involved a variety of complex scenarios, including close-quarters combat, tactical building clearing, and hostage rescue operations, allowing participants to hone their skills in a realistic setting.
This Advanced and Intermediate Base Defense Course is a mandatory course in the career development structure (SPK) for other ratings under Base Defence, where this course can instil leadership qualities based on the core values of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). Course participants have been taught and trained to become Platoon NCOs and Section Commanders in the day-to-day duties and base defence operations. This course can help produce personnel with the necessary leadership skills and knowledge.
