Royal Brunei Navy Participates in the 20th Asia Pacific Submarine Conference (APSC) 2024 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia​, Monday, 30th September 2024 – Royal Brunei Navy officers headed by Commander Md Azrin bin Hj Mahmud, Chief of Staff RBN, joined 16 other nations as well as 3 external organizations for the 20th series of the Asia Pacific Submarine Conference. The conference has been successfully held from 30th September to 2nd October 2024 in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and was inaugurated by the Commander of the Royal Malaysian Navy, Admiral Datuk Zulhelmy bin Ithnain.

With the theme "Uniting Efforts for Safety", this multilateral international conference aims to discuss aspects of Submarine Escape and Rescue (SMER), with the objective of fostering cooperation in submarine rescue operations involving regional countries as well as submarine safety and survivability in the Asia-Pacific. This effort also promotes the operational availability of submarines as well as the rapid response of any submarine rescue operations.​
