MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday, 8 August 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) organised a Half-Marathon and 10km Race with participation from all officers and personnel. Present as the Guest of Honour was Captain Haji Muhammad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, members of the
RBN Board Executive, senior officers, officers and personnel of RBN.
A total of four teams consisting of ten (10) male officers and ratings in each team competed in the half marathon race whilst two teams consisting of ten (10) female officers and ratings competed in the 10km race.
A total of six categories were contested namely the Men Half Marathon Team, 10km Men Open category for 39 years old and below, and 40 years old and above. Meanwhile, the women competed in the Women 10km Team, 10km Women Open category for 35 years old and above as well as 34 years old and below.
The starting line for the Half Marathon began at the Berakas Forest Reserve Recreational Park all the way to the Mini Stadium, Naval Training Centre, Muara Naval Base, whilst the route for the 10km Open Category began at Defence Academy (DA), Royal Brunei Armed Forces with its finishing line at Mini Stadium, Naval Training Centre (NTC).
The sporting event was a success in encouraging a healthy and fit lifestyle amongst RBN officers and personnel.
