The Closing Ceremony for the Maritime Communication Officer Course 02/2023 was held at the Nakhoda Hall, Naval Training Centre (NTC).
The 4-weeks course aims to provide the foundation of Maritime Communication knowledge for fleet executive officers on communication duties at sea and instructional duties ashore. Throughout the course, the participants acquired an in-depth understanding and knowledge of tactical communication matters and performed the role of Officer-In-Charge in the radio room onboard RBN ships.
Commander Saiful Hazril bin Ali, RBN, Fleet Chief of Staff of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), was present as the Guest of Honour.
The event
commenced with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Lt JG Haji Abdul Wadud bin Dato Paduka Haji Md Yussop, RBN. As the course representative, Lt JG Muhammad Afifi bin Hj Ahmad then delivered his speech, highlighting the importance of effective communication as one of the foundations for successful naval operations. He also conveyed his utmost gratitude to the teaching personnel for equipping the course participants with essential skills that will allow them to meet their obligations and perform their assigned tasks. As the Closing Ceremony ended, the course participants looked forward to contributing to the organization as it began a new phase in their professional pursuits.
