Junior Warfare Officer Course Series 1/2025 Successfully Concluded

MUARA NAVAL BASE, FRIDAY, 09 MAY 2025 —  Today, The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) marks the successful completion of the Junior Warfare Officer Course Series 1/2025, a key milestone in developing warfare for the organisation. The course, which concluded today, involved nine junior officers and served as an essential introduction to the principles and practices of naval warfare.

Throughout the course, participants engaged in an intensive classroom phase covering Intelligence Preparation of the Battlespace (IPB)—delivered by instructors from the Intelligence Training Wing—as well as warfare across three primary domains: Anti-Air Warfare, Anti-Surface Warfare, and Anti-Submarine Warfare. Each domain was reinforced with written examinations to ensure comprehension and application.

The sea phase provided hands-on experience, including live firings of the 57mm and 20mm naval guns, voice procedure drills, and the preparation of written operational orders such as Operational Tasking for Communications, Anti-Air Warfare, Anti-Surface Warfare, Anti-Submarine Warfare, Electronic Warfare, and Operation General. Participants also conducted Threat Briefs and Officer in Tactical Command (OTC) Briefs as part of operational readiness.

This course plays a vital role in preparing junior officers for future tactical responsibilities and enhances RBN’s overall warfighting capability and professionalism
