BERAKAS, Wednesday, 16 August 2023 – A total of 18 Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) officers made a visit to the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) Forecast Centre as part of their Officer Under Training Course (OUTC) 2023 programme.
The delegation was welcomed by Dayang Harnina binti Morani, the Acting Chief Meteorological Officer. The officers were briefed on their roles and responsibilities for provision of meteorological and climate services including in disseminating warnings, forecasts and advisories for government and non-government organisations as well as for the general public.
The visit was followed by a sharing session between both organisations discussing on the development of weather forecast data in the local maritime domain. The officers then toured the Weather Forecast Centre familiarising with the centre's daily operations and forecast equipment used such as the barometer, dry and wet bulb thermometer.
The visit concluded with a presentation of token of appreciation and a group photo session.
