MINISTER AT THE PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE AND MINISTER OF DEFENCE II VISITS KDB DARULEHSAN DURING LANGKAWI INTERNATIONAL MARITIME AND AEROSPACE EXHIBITION 2023

LANGKAWI, MALAYSIA. Wednesday, 24 May 2023 – KDB DARULEHSAN received a visit by the Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, this morning in Langkawi, Malaysia during the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace 2023.

Yang Berhormat Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Minister of Defence II was accompanied by the High Commissioner of Brunei in Malaysia, His Excellency Brigadier General (Retired) Dato Paduka Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin, the Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan.

The visit commenced with a brief followed by an interaction session with the ship's crew, group photo and signing of parchment.

The crew's commitment, toil, and sacrifice, especially having to be away from their families and loved ones in the name of duty and service to the nation and flying the flag of Negara Brunei Darussalam with pride in the world arena have been acknowledged by the minister. He urged the crew to retain their strong cohesion to ensure the ship achieves its mission and, at the same time, to support the country's efforts to uphold good defence diplomacy with other countries. Furthermore, he reminded that the ship's officers and crew to continue to strengthen their spiritual values.

He urged the KDB DARULEHSAN's officers and crew to conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism throughout the deployment and to sail back to Negara Brunei Darussalam safely.

With this achievement and not resting on it's laurels yet, KDB DARULEHSAN will continue on with the second part which is the remaining shore and sea phase. The shore phase will continue with Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2023 until the 27th May and ending with LIMA Sea Exercise on the 28th of May before departing back to Brunei Darussalam.
