SEND-OFF CEREMONY FOR KDB DARULEHSAN’S DEPLOYMENT PARTICIPATE IN THE 2023 LANGKAWI INTERNATIONAL MARITIME AND AEROSPACE EXHIBITION

MUARA NAVAL BASE, THURSDAY, 18 MAY 2023 - KDB DARULEHSAN set sail to embark on a 16-day deployment to participate in the 2023 Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition (LIMA 2023) which will be held in Langkawi, Malaysia from 23rd to 28th May 2023.

Captain Khairil bin Haji Abd Rahman, Fleet Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), attended the send-off ceremony as the Guest of Honour. Also present during send-off ceremony were members of RBN's Executive Board, officers, other ranks, and family members of deployed personnel. The ceremony began with the Guest of Honour bidding farewell to the ship's officers followed by the deployed personnel bidding farewell to their families and a prayer recital by Muhammad Sabqi bin Nasar, RBN Religious Teacher.

This deployment is led by the commanding officer of KDB DARULEHSAN, Commander Saiful Hazril bin Ali, RBN along with sixty-five (65) personnel consisting of the ship's officers, crew, as well as attachments including a medical officer, religious personnel, and Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) personnel.

Along with Brunei Darussalam, also expected to participate in LIMA 2023 are Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea,Thailand, United States and Vietnam. Participating navies will be involved in several programmes starting with the LIMA Fleet Review, professional exchanges, cultural and recreational activities as well as friendly sports interactions. This deployment marks another significant milestone in RBN's vision in establishing herself as a reliable maritime partner in the region on both bilateral and multilateral platforms.
