– Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) officers and their spouses held a Regimental Farewell Mess Dinner in conjunction with the retirement of the former Commander RBN First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Haji Seruji.
Hosting the Mess Dinner was Captain Haji Mohammad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander RBN along with his wife, Dr. Hajah Suzana binti Hj Awang Adenan where the former Commander RBN and his wife, Datin Haslinda binti Haji Hamid attended as the Guest of Honour for the evening.
During the Mess Dinner, the Acting Commander RBN delivered his remarks appreciating the former Commander RBN's 33 years of service and the drive under his leadership as RBN shifted into the new normal in the post-pandemic operational environment. The Guest of Honour also delivered a farewell remark which he thanked RBN officers for their service during his tenure as Commander RBN since 31 December 2020 and urged all personnel to keep striving towards the betterment of the organisation.
Following the remarks, the officers of RBN presented a farewell gift to the Guest of Honour and his wife after which they were then invited by the band master to conduct the RBN Band at the end of the Mess Dinner.
