MUARA BEACH CLEANUP CAMPAIGN COMMEMORATING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE NAVAL TRAINING CENTRE

MUARA BEACH, Tuesday, 22 November 2022 - The Naval Training Centre (NTC) has carried out cleaning campaign activities at Muara Beach commemorating the establishment of NTC on 1st August 2016. 

The event chairman, Chief Petty Officer Abdul Aziz bin Hj Abdul Rahim, RBN invited the Guest of Honour, Commander Willie bin Padan, Commandant Naval Training to inaugurate the event and lead the cleaning campaign along with 87 personnel consisting of NTC staff members and course participants.

The cleaning campaign led to a collection of 110 bags of litter including plastic bottles, slippers, scraps and other non-biodegradable waste. The undertaking of this event, has shown a team effort and synergy between NTC staff members and students.​

Apart from celebrating the establishment of NTC, this event aims to make a positive impact and help raise awareness, especially among RBN personnel, about the threat of litter to Brunei beaches. At the end of the campaign, the commandant gave a speech in which he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the event organizer and expressed his hope that more beach clean-ups would be held the following year.
