EPC MTA SEAGULL 08/18 CONCLUDES

CEBU, REPUBLIC OF PHILLIPINES, Thursday, 25 January 2018 - Two (2) Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Officers attended the Exercise Planning Conference (EPC) for the Maritime Training Activity (MTA) SEAGULL serial 08/18 hosted by the Philippine Navy (PN), held at the Integrated Mess Hall, Naval Base Rafael Ramos, Cebu, Republic of Philippines.

The conference commenced with an exchange of welcoming remarks from the head planners, Commander Azrin bin Hj Mahmud, Commanding Officer KDB DARULAMAN, RBN and Lieutenant Nomer C Bilbao, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, NF3, Naval Forces Central, PN.

Both RBN and PN working group planners discussed and ironed out on the upcoming exercise sequence of events which included a harbour and sea phase exercises.

The agreed exercises will focus on the conduct of naval operations by a combined naval task group in which will focus on maritime security operations, thus providing both navies the opportunity to enhance their interoperability and operation readiness.

The EPC underscores the strong bilateral relationship between RBN and PN, noting the importance of both navies to achieve common objectives.

PN will be hosting the MTA SEAGULL 08/18 which is expected to be held in Cebu, Republic of Philippines on September 2018.
