ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY HELD TREE PLANTING EVENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE 61ST RBAF ANNIVERSARY

MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 09 September 2022 – The Royal Brunei Navy held a tree planting event this afternoon in conjunction with the Royal Brunei Armed Forces' (RBAF) 61st anniversary where 60 trees consisting of Tabebuia Rosea and Bucida Molinetti trees were planted across Muara Naval Base. The event was held concurrently across all RBAF camps in collaboration with the Forestry Department and the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation.

The event commenced with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Ustaz Muhammad Sabqi bin Nasar, RBN Religious Teacher, and a briefing on the tree planting project delivered by Lieutenant Junior Grade Mohd Shukri bin Mohd Safri. The tree planting was officiated by First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi@ Haji Seruji, followed by officers and ratings at the respective zones in Muara Naval Base.

The activity represents one of the initiatives made by the Ministry of Defence in support of the Green Protocol guidelines of the Brunei Darussalam National Council on Climate Change to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the Ministry of Defence and RBAF premises.
