JIWA MURNI CEREMONY HELD FOR MINDEF & RBAF HAJJ PILGRIMS

Muara Naval Base, 10th June 2022 – 35 Hajj pilgrims from the Ministry of Defence and Royal Brunei Armed Forces were honoured with a Jiwa Murni Ceremony held this afternoon at the Surau Al-Huda.

Held annually by the RBAF for military personnel and Ministry of Defence civil servants intending to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, the last Jiwa Murni Ceremony was held in 2019 as previous COVID-19 travel restrictions kept pilgrims from performing the pilgrimage.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Sayyidul Istighfar and surah Yassin followed by a Doa Selamat and recitations of the Asmaul Husna and Selawat Tafrijiyyah. Ustaz Pg Hj Reduan bin Pg Hj Badaruddin delivered the religious talk titled "Perjalanan Yang Dirindui". The ceremony continued after Asar prayers with a Doa Peliharakan Sultan and a recitation of Selawat Qiyam, ending with Surah Al-Asr, Tasbih Kaffarah and Doa Kepada Ibu Bapa.

In attendance was the Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi@Haji Seruji and Pg Dr Haji Mohd Esa Al-Islam bin Pg Haji Mohd Yunus as the Acting Permanent Secretary of Defence's representative. The 35 Hajj pilgrims consisted of 20 military personnel and 15 civil servants.
