MUARA, ISNIN, 01 DISEMBER 2025 – Tentera Laut Diraja Brunei (TLDB) telah mengadakan Majlis Penutup bagi Kursus Maritime Operations (MAROPS) Siri 08/2025 bertempat di Mes Pegawai Waran, TLDB. Majlis ini menandakan kejayaan sebelas pegawai TLDB menamatkan kursus intensif selama lapan minggu dan menerima sijil masing-masing.
Majlis diserikan oleh Tetamu Kehormat, Kepten Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, TLDB, Pemerintah Armada. Majlis dimulakan dengan bacaan Surah Al-Fatihah oleh Leftenan Muhammad Hamizan bin Haji Zaini, TLDB, diikuti dengan ucapan oleh Leftenan Nur Mazarina binti Abdullah Marzlan, TLDB, selaku wakil peserta kursus. Dalam ucapannya, beliau menekankan peranan penting kursus ini dalam meningkatkan keupayaan analitikal pegawai serta mempersiapkan mereka memikul tanggungjawab yang lebih besar selaras dengan piawaian profesional bagi kenaikan ke pangkat Leftenan Komander.
Majlis diteruskan dengan penyampaian sijil oleh Tetamu Kehormat dan diakhiri dengan bacaan Doa serta sesi bergambar bersama tetamu kehormat dan tenaga pengajar.
Bermula pada 6 Oktober 2025, kursus MAROPS memberi tumpuan kepada pengukuhan kemahiran peserta dalam maritime estimates dan penyediaan operasi. Melalui latihan berasaskan senario, kursus ini memberikan pemahaman mendalam mengenai Operational Military Appreciation Process (OMAP), yang membolehkan pegawai menilai persekitaran maritim yang sentiasa berubah, mengutamakan keperluan operasi serta menterjemahkan penilaian tersebut kepada arahan operasi yang jelas dan teratur.
Para peserta turut mengikuti sesi perancangan praktikal bagi memperhalusi keupayaan mereka dalam analisis ancaman, pengoptimuman sumber dan perancangan pelaksanaan misi. Kejayaan Kursus MAROPS Siri 08/2025 ini mencerminkan komitmen berterusan TLDB dalam melahirkan pegawai yang berkeupayaan membuat keputusan operasi yang tepat, cepat dan berinformasi. Dengan memperkukuh asas kemahiran merancang secara berstruktur dan maritime estimates, kursus ini menyumbang secara signifikan kepada peningkatan kesiapsiagaan dan keberkesanan operasi TLDB.

EMPOWERING MIDDLE MANAGEMENT: RBN STRENGTHENS OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP WITH MAROPS COURSE COMPLETION
MUARA, MONDAY, 01 DECEMBER 2025 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held the closing ceremony for the Maritime Operations Course (MAROPS) Serial 08/2025 at the Senior Rates’ Mess, Royal Brunei Navy. The event marked the successful completion of the intensive eight-week course by eleven RBN officers, who were awarded their certificates of completion.
The ceremony was graced by the Guest of Honour, Captain Sonny Iskandar bin Rasani, RBN, Fleet Commander. The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Lieutenant Muhammad Hamizan bin Haji Zaini, RBN, followed by a speech delivered by Lieutenant Nur Mazarina binti Abdullah Marzlan, RBN, on behalf of the course participants. In her remarks, she underscored the course’s pivotal role in enhancing officers’ analytical competencies and preparing them to shoulder greater responsibilities in line with the professional standards required for progression to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
The event proceeded with the presentation of certificates by the Guest of Honour and concluded with the recitation of Doa and a group photo session with distinguished guests and instructors.
Commencing on 6 October 2025, the MAROPS course centred on strengthening participants’ proficiency in maritime estimates and the development of operational orders. Through scenario-based exercises, the curriculum provided an in-depth understanding of the Operational Military Appreciation Process (OMAP), enabling officers to assess evolving maritime environments, prioritise operational requirements, and translate assessments into coherent operational directives.
Participants also undertook practical planning sessions aimed at refining their ability to apply threat analysis, resource optimisation, and mission execution planning. The successful completion of MAROPS Serial 08/2025 reflects the Royal Brunei Navy’s continued commitment to cultivating officers capable of making sound, timely, and informed operational decisions. By reinforcing foundational competencies in structured planning and maritime estimates, the course contributes significantly to enhancing the Navy’s overall operational readiness and effectiveness.
