MUARA NAVAL BASE, Monday, 27 May 2025 – Lieutenant Commander Harry Edward Ball of the British Loan Service paid a farewell courtesy call to Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Zainal Abidin, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, following the conclusion of his assignment as Dental Officer with the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). He was accompanied by Chief Dental Officer of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), Colonel Jefri bin Haji Abdul Razak.

Lieutenant Commander Harry expressed his sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality and professional support extended to him throughout his service in Brunei. He described his time in the country as both professionally rewarding and personally memorable.

His connection to Brunei is particularly special, as his father previously served as a dental officer in Brunei from 1987 to 1989, and recently revisited RBN during a personal trip. Lt Cdr Harry also shared that one of the highlights of his stay was the birth of his child in Brunei. During his time off, he took the opportunity to travel personally to nearby countries including Sabah, Sarawak, Australia, and Japan.

He will next serve onboard HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy’s flagship aircraft carrier.

The RBN and RBAF thank Lieutenant Commander Harry for his dedicated service and valuable contributions through the British Loan Service Scheme, which continues to strengthen professional ties and cooperation between RBAF and other agencies.
