MUARA, Wednesday, 30 April 2025 – KDB DARUSSALAM departed Muara Naval Base for a 13-day deployment to participate in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) Asia 2025 in the Republic of Singapore.
The send-off ceremony was graced with the presence of the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, RBN, and attended by senior officers, personnel, and family members.
KDB DARUSSALAM, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Awang Mohammad Zulyamin bin Awang Mohammad Noor, leads a 72-member RBN contingent comprising ship’s crew, officers, a medical officer, religious personnel, and Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) members. The deployment provides a valuable platform for professional development, engagement with regional navies, and strengthening international naval cooperation.
IMDEX Asia 2025 will feature 22 warships from 13 nations, with activities including operational discussions, professional exchanges, and networking engagements. RBN’s participation underscores its ongoing commitment to regional stability, collaboration, and maritime security.
