Muara, Thursday, 16 January 2025 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) concluded the inaugural Engineering and Logistics Exchange Program (ELEP) 2025, held from 13 to 16 January 2025 in Brunei. The program was officiated by Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Hj Ibrahim, Commandant of Support Services.
The opening ceremony saw the presence of ME7 Koh Cheok Wei, the RSN Head of Delegation, along with delegates from RSN, RBN Support Services, fleet officers, and personnel from ST Engineering and Muara Maritime Services (MMS). The Commandant emphasized the program's significance as a platform to exchange best practices and improve maintenance processes for the Patrol Vessels KDB AS-SIDDIQ and KDB AL-FARUQ, with a focus on supply chain management for spare parts.
Throughout the program, RBN and RSN shared insights on maintenance and supply chain management. RSN technical teams, along with ST Engineering, visited both vessels to interact with the crews. The Head of Delegation and RSN personnel also sailed on KDB AL-FARUQ for firsthand observations of the ship's health status.
As part of the program, the RSN delegation made a courtesy call to Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Zainal Abidin, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy, at the RBN Headquarters, further reinforcing mutual respect between the two navies.
A hiking session was also held at Taman Rekreasi Bukit Subok, allowing both navies to further strengthen their bonds. The program also included discussions on the future of ELEP, with both navies agreeing to continue the program annually, alternating between Brunei and Singapore.
The program concluded with a closing ceremony, where the Head of Delegation expressed gratitude for the successful collaboration and hospitality. Both navies look forward to continuing their partnership through ELEP.
