MUARA, Tuesday 26 November 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) and the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) held the 2nd Navy-to-Navy Talks (NTNT) from 25 to 28 November 2024 in Brunei Darussalam. The meeting officially began on 26 November and was co-chaired by Captain Md Azrin bin Haji Mahmud, Chief of Staff of the Royal Brunei Navy, and Rear Admiral Chaksawat Saiwong, Director of the Office of Policy and Planning, Naval Operations Department, Royal Thai Navy.
The talks focused on key topics, including discussions on the Terms of Reference (TOR), improving information sharing, participation in courses, and planning a potential bilateral exercise to strengthen collaboration between the two navies.
During the visit, Rear Admiral Chaksawat Saiwong also paid a courtesy call to Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy. This meeting further highlighted the strong relationship and mutual respect between the two navies.
The 2nd NTNT demonstrated the commitment of both navies to working together to enhance regional cooperation and build stronger ties. Both navies look forward to continuing their collaboration in the years to come.
