Royal Brunei Navy and Royal Brunei Air Force Engage in Subject Matter Expert Exchange, Ship Tour and Sports Interaction with USS Savannah

Muara Commercial Port, Saturday, 5th October 2024 - a joint delegation from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) team and the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) 1st Wing and 3rd Wing personnel, visited the USS Savannah at Muara Commercial Port yesterday. The visit involved an exchange of expertise on various naval and aerial operations as well as a guided tour of the USS Savannah, an Independence-variant Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), known for its agility and capability to operate in both near-shore and open-ocean environments.

The visit was part of an ongoing commitment to strengthen military cooperation and technical knowledge between the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and the United States Navy. The subject matter exchange allowed both parties to discuss advancements in naval operations and unmanned systems, focusing on enhancing collaboration and interoperability.

The day’s activities also included a friendly non-competitive sports interaction at Muara Beach, where the RBN and U.S. Navy personnel took part in volleyball and tug-of-war matches, further fostering camaraderie and mutual respect.

The USS Savannah (LCS 28) will be in Brunei for a logistical stop from 04 October to 07 October 2024.
