Fleet Commanders Conference 2024 Convenes in Darwin, Australia

DARWIN, AUSTRALIA, TUESDAY, 10 SEPTEMBER 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) was represented by Fleet Commander Captain Sahibul Bahri bin Haji Zainal Abidin at the Fleet Commanders Conference 2024, held from 9th to 12th September 2024 in conjunction with Exercise Kakadu. The conference, hosted by Rear Admiral Chris Smith, Commander of Australian Fleet (COMAUSFLT) brought together naval leaders from 39 countries to discuss key issues related to Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief (HADR) within the Indo-Pacific region.

The program featured an official reception with a Sunset Ceremony and a full-day conference focused on HADR operations. Captain Sahibul Bahri also held bilateral meetings with naval leaders from Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, strengthening partnerships and reinforcing commitments to regional stability and disaster response collaboration.
