FNS VENDEMIAIRE ‘S GOODWILL VISIT TO BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

​​MUARA, Thursday, 09 May 2024 - A French Navy Frigate, FNS VENDEMIAIRE, concluded a successful visit to Brunei Darussalam, further strengthening bilateral ties between the two navies. FNS VENDEMIAIRE was in Brunei Darussalam for a goodwill visit from 06 May 2024 until 09 May 2024.

During the visit, the Commanding Officer of FNS VENDEMIAIRE paid a courtesy call to Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, RBN, the Fleet Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), discussing bilateral defence relations and potential collaboration.

Further strengthening the ties, FNS VENDEMIAIRE hosted Captain Khairil bin Abd Rahman, RBN, Acting Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy for a Luncheon onboard, followed by Surface Picture Presentation info sharing, a Seminar on Cyber Security to RBAF Personnel and lastly, a Cocktail reception onboard FNS VENDEMIAIRE. The RBN hosted a sports interaction between KDB DARUTTAQWA and FNS VENDEMIAIRE in a volleyball game. The visit concluded with a PASSEX (Passage Exercise) between FNS VENDEMIAIRE and KDB DARULEHSAN of the Royal Brunei Navy, further enhancing interoperability and operational coordination between the two naval forces.

This visit allowed for professional exchanges and building trust between the sailors. RBN sailors toured the ship, learned about each other's capabilities, and discussed best practices.
