ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY OBSERVES SPIRITUAL DILIGENCE WITH THREE KHATAM COMPLETIONS IN RAMADHAN

MUARA, Tuesday, 09 April 2024 – In observance of the holy month of Ramadan 1445H, the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) has conducted Tedarus Al-Quran on a daily basis. This year, the RBN has successfully completed three Khatam Al-Quran ceremonies during this sacred month. These ceremonies were conducted at Surau Al-Huda, Muara Naval Base.

Captain Haji Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, the Acting Commander of RBN, graced the second Khatam Al-Quran as the Guest of Honor on Tuesday, 02 April 2024. Whereas the first and third Khatam Al-Quran, which took place on 21 March 2024 and 09 April 2024, were attended respectively by Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, RBN, the Fleet Commander RBN and Captain Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, RBN, the Acting Deputy Commander RBN as the Senior Officer in attendance.

The three ceremonies commenced after the Fardhu Zuhor prayer, beginning with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a prayer before the reading of the Al-Quran. The participants then performed Takhtim Al-Quran, Tahlil, Doa Khatam, and Dhikr Marhaban. They concluded with the 'Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Brunei Darussalam'.

These ceremonies signify the completion of the Al-Quran reading by RBN officers and ratings throughout Ramadan. They also promote and encourage reading the Al-Quran within the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), particularly in the Royal Brunei Navy as part of the Ihya Ramadhan programme introduced by the RBAF Religious Department.
