ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY HELD NISFU SYA’ABAN 1445 HIJRAH EVENT

MUARA, Saturday, 24 February 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) celebrated Malam Nisfu Sya’aban at Surau Al-Huda, RBN. Present as the Guest of Honour was Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, Acting Commander of the RBN. Also in attendance were RBN’s Board Executives members (BETL), senior officers, officers and personnel of RBN.

The event commenced with Maghrib Prayers and the recitation of Surah Yassin three (03) times, led by the Imam of Surau Al-Huda, followed by the recitation of the doa Nisfu Sya’aban. The intention in the first recitation was to seek good health from Allah (S.W.T.) in our worship and deeds; the second recitation was to seek lawful prosperity and guidance to righteousness at the end of our lives; and in the final recitation, seeking protection from all misfortunes and calamities. The event concluded with Isya prayers. 

The month of Sya’aban holds significance as one of the most beloved months in the Islamic calendar, as recognized by Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassalam (SAW). It was during this month that Rasulullah SAW regularly fasted. Following this practice brings us closer to Allah SWT and prepares the body, mind and spirit for the upcoming holy month of Ramadhan.​
