BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sunday, 25 February 2024 – Brunei Darussalam's giant-sized national flag hoisted since 16 February was lowered down in a ceremony marking the end of the hoisting period in conjunction with Brunei Darussalam's 40th National Day celebration. The ceremony took place in the vicinity of Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex.
Present as the guest of honour was Yang Mulia Dato Seri Paduka Awang Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Mohd Yunos, Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister's Office.
Twenty personnel from the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), led by Lieutenant Junior Grade Muhd Shafiq Hanafi bin Sahari, RBN, were involved in lowering the national flag. The National Anthem accompanied the entire proceeding, 'Allah Peliharakan Sultan' and Doa Selamat, to conclude the ceremony.
