RBN & RSN REAFFIRM NAVAL COOPERATION THROUGH EXERCISE PELICAN 40/22 WITH MONUMENTAL MILESTONE

SINGAPORE, Saturday, 08 October 2022 – Exercise PELICAN 40/22 has come to a conclusion with the Closing Conference that was held this morning at Fleet Command Building, Changi Naval Base following the end of the Sea Phase where both RBN ships together with RSS FORMIDABLE and RSS VIGILANCE have successfully carried out complex naval warfare exercises.

The main highlight in the exercise was the inaugural conduct of Air Defense exercise (ADEX) which featured the first participation of two F-16 Fighters from Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF). Through this exercise, both navies have enhanced their interoperability with RSN in anti-air warfare. Other warfare exercises include ENCOUNTEREX and Gunnery Firing.

The Command Task Group (CTG) of Exercise PELICAN 40/22, Lieutenant Colonel Koh Mao Jiang, Commanding Officer of RSS FORMIDABLE shared his appreciation for all the efforts put on throughout the exercise planning from both RBN and RSN that has enabled to achieve the exercise objectives and ensure all the events run smoothly.

Commander Pg Mohd Faren bin Pg Mohd Noor, RBN, Commanding Officer KDB DARUSSALAM and as the Deputy Command Task Group (DCTG) of Exercise PELICAN 40/22 also took the opportunity to express his gratitude on behalf of RBN sailors to RSN for the dedication and hardwork that led to successful conduct of this year exercise.
