ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY SHIPS SAIL FOR EXERCISE PELICAN SERIAL

MUARA NAVAL BASE, Thursday 29 September 2022 – RBN held a send-off ceremony as KDB DARUSSALAM and KDB SYAFAAT prepared to depart Muara Naval Base and set sail to participate in the 40th Series of EXERCISE PELICAN scheduled to be held in Singapore from 3rd to 8th October 2022.

KDB DARUSSALAM is captained by Commander Pg Mohd Faren bin Pg Mohd Noor, RBN, who will be leading the RBN representation totalling 93 personnel from KDB DARUSSALAM, KDB SYAFAAT which is captained by Lieutenant Commander Nazurah binti Hj Mahaleh, RBN, and a team of RBN's Naval Surface Action Group (NAVSAG) attached onboard KDB DARUSSALAM.

Present as the Guest of Honour for the send-off ceremony was First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Spry bin Haji Serudi @ Seruji, Commander RBN. Also present were RBN Officers, ratings, and family members of the deployed personnel. The ceremony began with a Doa Selamat recital by Able Rate Mohd Fuad bin Abu Bakar, RBN a crew member of KDB DARUSSALAM and concluded as they bid farewell to their families and Muara Naval Base.

EXERCISE PELICAN reflects a robust and unremitting bond between both navies. This year, both navies have several interaction programmes during the exercise consisting of courtesy calls, professional exchanges, combined simulation training as well as the PELICAN Cup sport interactions.
