MUARA NAVAL BASE , FRIDAY 21 MARCH 2025 - The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) hosted an Iftar gathering at Muara Naval Base, graced by Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF). The event brought together former RBAF and RBN Commanders, former RBN Sergeant Majors, and current RBN personnel, including recent Muslim converts.
Among the distinguished guests were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Retired) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Sanggamara Diraja Major General (Retired) Pengiran Haji Ibnu Basit bin Pengiran Datu Penghulu Pengiran Haji Apong, the First Commander of RBN.
The event commenced with the recitation of Surah Yassin and Tahlil led by Captain Mohammad Ayza Azrine bin Ayahani from the RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT), followed by light Iftar and Maghrib prayers at Surau Al-Huda. Dinner was held at Dewan Samudera, with gift presentations by the Commander RBAF and Captain Sahibul Bahari bin Haji Zainal Abidin, RBN, Commander of RBN, to former RBAF and RBN Commanders, respectively.
The evening concluded with a closing doa by Lt Col Abdul Mujib bin Haji Japar, Acting Director of JAMA’AT. The Iftar served as a platform to strengthen ties across generations of the RBAF family while commemorating the holy month of Ramadhan. The event was organised under the leadership of Commander Malai Haszahrin bin Malai Yusoff, ensuring the evening’s success and meaningful execution.
