COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF ROYAL THAI NAVY MAKES OFFICIAL VISIT TO BRUNEI DARUSSALAM

Muara Naval Base, Tuesday, 20 August 2024 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) received a visit from Admiral Adoong Pan-Iam, the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, as part of his Official Visit to Brunei Darussalam from 18 August 2024 until 20 August 2024. Throughout his stay in Brunei Darussalam, Admiral Adoong Pan-Iam is joined by his spouse Mrs. Kirata Pan-Iam.

Before visiting the RBN, Admiral Adoong Pan-Iam first made a courtesy call to Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces. Following that, Admiral Adoong visited the Royal Brunei Armed Forces Museum before proceeding to Muara Naval Base.

Upon arriving at the Muara Naval Base, Admiral Adoong Pan-Iam was accorded a Guard of Honor by the RBN personnel and Band led by 1284 Lieutenant Haji Muhammad Faiz bin Haji Kudil, RBN. At the RBN headquarters, the Commander-in-Chief was received by Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN, the Acting Commander of RBN and the RBN Executive Board.

Admiral Adoong then proceeded with a bilateral discussion with the Acting Commander of the RBN. During the discussion, both sides affirmed the cooperative ties between the two navies and discussed prospective areas of engagement to bolster friendly ties mutually. Following the bilateral meeting, a brunch session at the RBN Officers’ Mess facilitated further discussions and strengthened camaraderie between the senior officers of both navies.

During his visit to Brunei Darussalam, Admiral Adoong had the opportunity to witness the culture of the country. He visited interesting places in Tutong District, where he witnessed handicraft demonstrations, and the production of virgin coconut oil, and agarwood. The admiral and his spouse completed their Malay Islamic Monarchy tour with visits to Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and the Royal Regalia Museum in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Admiral Adoong Pan-Iam’s successful visit signifies the importance of continued engagement and collaboration in ensuring a stable and secure maritime environment in the region.
