NAVAL TRAINING CENTRE, Wednesday, 14 February 2024 – The Naval Training Centre (NTC) held a handover ceremony between its outgoing Commandant Naval Training, Commander Willie bin Padan, RBN and the incoming Commandant Naval Training, Commander Mohammad Faizal Ezam bin Haji Abas, RBN infront of the grand entrance of the NTC, Royal Brunei Navy.
The ceremony was attended by the Senior Officers, Officers, permanent staffs and Instructors as well as course participants. Also in attendance were officers from Brunei Engineering Logistic Training Solutions (BELTS).
The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Ustaz Mas Ismandi bin Hassan, Religious Teacher, Royal Brunei Navy, followed by a speech from the outgoing Commandant Naval Training.
In his speech, he expressed his appreciation for the continued support and efforts from all NTC personnel during his tenure as the Commandant Naval Training. Furthermore, he expressed pride and satisfaction for NTC’s achievements, resilience, and robust team spirit, especially in managing the COVID-19 pandemic. He further hoped that NTC personnel would remain intact and credible in accomplishing every responsibility given under the new Commandant Naval Training. Finally, he expressed his sincerest congratulations to the new Commandant Naval Training and prayed that the new Commandant Naval Training will always be guided in fulfilling his new taskings and responsibilities.
The ceremony then continued with the signing of the Handing Over Certificate and handing over of Tongkat Kepimpinan Komandan Latihan Laut between its outgoing Commandant, Commander Willie bin Padan, RBN and the incoming Commandant, Commander Mohammad Faizal Ezam bin Haji Abas, RBN, marking the official handing over of the Commandant Naval Training, NTC place of duty.
As a newly appointed Commandant Naval Training, Commander Mohammad Faizal Ezam bin Haji Abas, RBN also delivered his inaugural speech as the 4th Commandant Naval Training, NTC. In his speech, he conveyed his utmost appreciation to the outgoing Commandant Naval Training for his leadership and wisdom in leading the NTC since 04 December 2020. He highlighted that the existing cooperation gave him great confidence to lead responsibly and emphasised total commitment to achieving NTC’s vision and mission. He further reminded all personnel to uphold their loyalty, discipline and maintain the organisation's readiness, credibility, and security under their respective leaderships.
The ceremony continued with refreshments at the Wardroom, NTC and concluded with a Closing Doa, group photo and the signing of parchments by both former and newly appointed Commandant Naval Training.
