ROYAL BRUNEI NAVY HOLDS HARI RAYA ‘AIDILADHA KORBAN CEREMONY 1442 HIJRAH

MUARA, Thursday 22 July 2021 – The Royal Brunei Navy distributed sacrificial meat comprising of 2 sheeps, 2 buffaloes and 1 cow to Royal Brunei Navy Personnel and Asnaf group living in Kampong Muara, in a Korban Ceremony in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidil Adha 1442H celebration.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and the recitation of Takbir Aidil Adha led by Ustaz Sabqi bin Nassar, the event continued with the distribution of Korban participants by the Guest of Honour Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, Deputy Commander RBN, followed by distribution of Korban to Asnaf group by Captain Khairil bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Fleet Commander RBN & Commander Hj Suhailee bin Pungut, Commandant Support Services RBN, Also in attendance during the event were Head Village of Kampung Serasa, Commercial Managing Director , Assistance Administrator of Public Administrator office, as well as the civilian community in Muara area. Recipients of the Korban meat comprised personnel under Royal Brunei Navy and Asnaf Group.

The ceremony serves as one of the religious practices that fall under Sunnah Muakkad, which reflects and signifies the sense of gratefulness to Allah the Almighty for all the blessings that have been bestowed in life. Apart from performing good deeds and religious obligations, this practice also serves to cultivate a sense of caring and compassion for the community while at the same time strengthening relationships among Muslims. Hence, it is also create awareness to look after our neighbors particularly to those in need.
