MUARA NAVAL BASE, Tuesday, 26 September 2023 –
Rear Admiral Geoffroy d’Andigne, Commander of Armed Forces in French Polynesia, Commander of the Pacific Experimental Center, Commander of the Pacific Ocean and French Polynesian Maritime Zones and Commander of the French Polynesia Defense Base conducted a working visit to the Royal Brunei Navy’s (RBN) Naval Training Centre. The visit consisted of an organizational brief and a visit to RBN’s Full Mission Bridge Simulator.
Accompanying Rear Admiral Geoffroy d’Andigne were His Excellency Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Brunei Darussalam, Captain (Navy) Riaz Akhoune, France Defence Attaché accredited to Brunei Darussalam.
Also present were Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN Acting Commander, Commander Md Azrin bin Hj Mahmud, RBN Chief of Staff, Commander Willie bin Padan, RBN Commandant Naval Training.
Rear Admiral Geoffroy d’Andigne and his delegation are in the country for a five-day official visit from 23 to 27 September 2023. The visit further strengthened the defence and military relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of France, in which both countries significantly enhanced bilateral defence and military cooperation since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding concerning Cooperation in Defence Matters and Defence Equipment on 25 February 1999.
