MUARA, Thursday, 30 August 2018 – The Chief of Defence Force, Singapore Armed Forces, His Excellency Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong visited Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) as part of his three-day visit to Negara Brunei Darussalam.Upon arrival, His Excellency Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong was received by Commander of Royal Brunei Navy (RBN), First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad.
During the visit, Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong was taken for a tour of KDB DARULAMAN and His Excellency was briefed on the RBN organization and the ship’s capabilities and he also witnessed the launching of Rigid Hull Inflatable Craft (RHIC). The Commander of RBN and His Excellency expressed in enhancing of RBN and Republic Singapore Navy (RSN)) interaction, where both navies interact regularly through bilateral and multilateral exercises, professional exchanges, and courses, which has enhanced the professionalism and interoperability of both navies.
The visit concluded with the signing of parchment and memento presentation before leaving the Muara Naval Base.
