BERAKAS GARRISON, Wednesday, 03 October 2018 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Football Team emerged as champions of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Football League 2018 after edging the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) 2-1 in a thrilling match held at the Mini Stadium, Bolkiah Garisson.

Present to handover the prizes was Yang Mulia First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pg Hj Muhammad, Acting Commander of RBAF. It was the first time of having the league and cup held in the tournament and the first time in history where a team won the league without any losses and go on to win the cup.

Other notable mentions included 10451 WO1 Alijanda bin Sitom from MINDEF Team who won the Best Goalkeeper for the League; 52297 Ordinary Rate (OD) Ak Mohd Junmatatul bin Pg Metali, RBN from RBN Team who was awarded the Top Scorer Award, and 15075 Petty Officer (PO) Jumaidi bin Haji Jumat, RBN from RBN Team who received the Best Player Award.

This year’s event was organised by Training Institute RBAF and is aimed to encourage healthy sportsmanship among RBAF personnel. The League started on the 12 September 2018 comprising 5 teams: Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF) Team, Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) Team, Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF) Team, Training Institute (TI) RBAF Team and Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) Team.
