MUARA, Thursday, 4 April 2019 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) welcomed the arrival of HMAS DIAMANTINA, Royal Australian Navy (RAN) on 04 April 2019, that is currently visiting Brunei Darussalam until 07 March 2019.
The ship is commanded by Lieutenant Commander Darren McDevitt, RAN and carries 46 crew onboard.
During the goodwill visit, Lieutenant Commander Darren McDevitt, RAN, called on The Commander of the RBN, First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad. Both sides had discussed opportunities for further enhancement of the bilateral relationship between the two navies.
HMAS DIAMANTINA held an onboard reception hosted by Lieutenant Commander Darren McDevitt, RAN. Present as the Guest of Honour was First Admiral Pengiran Dato Seri Pahlawan Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of RBN and Her Excellency Nicola Rosenblum. Also present during the reception were senior officers and officers from RBN.
While in Brunei Darussalam, HMAS DIAMANTINA participated in various activities including professional exchanges and sport interactions where both naval personnel had opportunities to share experiences and knowledge as well as, to foster friendship and camaraderie. HMAS DIAMANTINA also conducted Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with KDB BERKAT before departing to her next port of call.
