MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday, 14 July 2023 – The Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) held a promotion ceremony for 107 Senior and Junior Ratings held at the RBN Senior Rates’ Mess and at Dewan Samudera for junior rates. 44 were promoted to the rank of Petty Officer, 21 were promoted to the rank of Leading Hand, and 42 were promoted to the rank of Able Rate.
Present at the ceremony as Guest of Honour was Captain Haji Mohamad Sarif Pudin bin Matserudin, RBN Acting Commander who presented the rank insignias. The presentation of rank insignias were also witnessed by members of the RBN Executive Board, RBN officers and ratings, as well as family members of the newly promoted RBN personnel.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah followed by a presentation of the rank insignias by the Guest of Honour and concluded with a recitation of Doa Selamat.
