MUARA NAVAL BASE, Friday 18 December 2020 – The Royal Brunei Navy has launched its First Edition of Aman Samudera Magazine earlier this morning at the Officer’s Mess. The magazine serves as a continuation of the previous magazine, known as Warta Samudera, last published 12 years ago.

The event was attended by First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Othman bin Hj Suhaili@Suhaily, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN) as the guest of honor, Senior Officers from other units as well as RBN officers.

The event commenced with an opening speech from the Chief Editor, Commander Norharirayati binti Yakub, RBN which highlighted the purpose of the magazine to showcase the RBN commitments in maintaining its mission and roles, as well as, a mean of recruitment strategy for RBN. The sequence continues with the Guest of Honor officiating the magazine launch by a ribbon-cutting, a showcase of a short video, and presenting a copy of the magazine to each invited guest.

The Aman Samudera is aim to be published twice a year and the next edition will feature a wide range of topics featuring the wives of the RBN Officers, work relationship with Muara Maritime Services, and more scope on the existing sections like ‘Making Waves’ and ‘Work Life Balance’.

The revival of Aman Samudera also aspires to create a platform for both military personnel and the public as a means for education and learning experience. The magazine will be distributed to other educational institutions and it is also available in digital copy via QR Code.
