BERAKAS GARISON, Friday, 30 November 2018 – Al-Bahriyah Group from the Royal Brunei Navy was awarded the champion of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Dikir Syarafil Anam competition which was held in conjunction with Prophet Muhammad SAW Maulud celebration for 1440H, organised by the Religious Department RBAF (JAMA’AT). The runner-up of the competition Al-Hikmah Group from Training Institute RBAF, whereas the third place went to Asy-Syuja’ah Group from Special Forces Regiment RBAF. The winning team was presented with a trophy, souvenirs, cash prize, and certificates of participation.The competition was participated by seven groups comprising of Al-Barakah Group from the Royal Brunei Air Force, Al-Bahriyah Group from the Royal Brunei Navy, Ad-Difa’ Group from the Ministry of Defence, Ar-Rahmah Group from the Royal Brunei Land Force, Asy-Syuhada’ group from Defence Academy RBAF, Asy-Syuja’ah Group from Special Forces Regiment RBAF, and Al-Hikmah Group from Training Institute RBAF. This competition took place at Dewan Pahlawan, Berakas Garrison.
Present as the Guest of Honour was Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, the Commander of the RBAF. Also present at the event were the Services Commanders, military directors, senior officers and members of the RBAF.
This competition was aimed to enliven the Prophet Muhammad SAW Maulud celebration especially in cultivating religious events and nurturing religious interest among RBAF members in the field of Dikir Syarafil Anam and spreading the Syiar of Islam among RBAF members.
